B-25 History Radio Project



B-25 Mitchell Radio Project 
Goals:

  • Restore a Liaison Set (SCR-287-A) for installation in the Warbirds of Glory B-25 Sandbar Mitchell, 44-30733, currently being restored in Michigan as a working, flying Amateur Radio Station.  We will also refurbish as needed the Command Set (SCR-274-N) that was previously required by this group.
  • Restore a Command Set (SCR-274-N) and Liaison Set (SCR-287-A) as a mobile ground station for demonstrating these radios at airshows and other events.
  • Restore radio sets used in later model, late 1944-1945, B-25J planes the Command Set AN/ARC-3 and Liaison Set AN/ARC-8.
  • Obtain and  restore other radios and antennas used in the B-25.

This project is being managed by the B-25 History Project in Kansas City, Kansas.
